It's a good game, yes, but this PC version doesn't support modern Xbox controllers, and that is a damn shame.

The nature of the puzzles in Blocks That Matter is such that it is very easy to make accidental but irreversible errors, forcing a complete restart of levels that may actually involve several smaller puzzle steps. The result is that a cute, easy puzzle platformer becomes tedious and maddening by repetition.

I can't say how much of that is personal preference or not, but I can just say that this was very boring for me. I think it has to do with being able too easily to screw things up and having to redo a long passage of the game, which often needs you to be careful and progress slowly. The thing is, you have to make mistakes to understand how to play, right from the start, and the game punishes you for that in a way...

It's a great game - a combination of logical puzzle solving, dimensional thinking and some timed jumping. It's not too hard - unless you decide to collect the stars (to get the green star you have to accumulate quite a lot of unused block at the end of the level - and it can be tricky). The story is cute - and the main character - just adorable! Buy this game, To support its great developers at least. :)

Blocks that matter tries to be a puzzle and platformer game and is mediocre at both. The primary puzzle aspect involves collecting blocks and placing them again. This simple concept is ruined by needlessly convoluted rules about how you must place and pickup blocks. The game is okay for a puzzle game. The story is kinda dumb, but whatever because it's a puzzle game. I didn't mind the platform elements or speed elements (except the stupid timing of Hellgate). The lack of an undo button is absolutely insane as a single mistake and you need to redo the whole level. This is a fun little puzzle platformer (although there are plenty of levels), with a good complexity/difficulty curve as you progress, and also a bit of replayability - as you gain skills by progressing through the levels, you also sometimes gain something that will get you access to extra sections of the earlier levels to get extra bonuses etc. It generally has that good level of difficulty for a puzzle game - once...
