Haunted Gas Station

Too many ♥♥♥♥ indie horror games take place at a gas station. Now I have brain cancer from this.

The controls feel slow, with a noticeable delay when stopping the walking animation. The invisible walls constantly break immersion, while the jumpscares and enemies are poorly executed. The repetitive gas station plot does little to stand out, there are plenty of other horror games that do this formula much better.

This is genuinely one of the greatest horror games I've ever had the pleasure of experiencing. Its gameplay is rich and fresh, while it's story keeps you guessing at every turn. I frankly think it's a crying shame that this game is free, because I want to be able to expel my entire savings at the developer at mach speeds. If you're still reading this review, stop. I paused the game, and the second I unpaused, I was immediately hit with a jumpscare that scared the hell out of me in front of all my friends while I was streaming on webcam. BAD!!! I look a fool. In all seriousness, it’s an incredibly short experience with cheesy dialogue and fairly predictable jumpscares. It might have been decent as a quick free horror game, but it’s hard to recommend given the technical issues...
