Purchased for the nostalgia of PR2 being one of the very first PC games I ever played as a kid. As an adult I'm finding a deep appreciation for the mechanics of the gameplay and the hours I'm putting in make me curious about the subsequent entries in the franchise.

Love this game, you can build your wealth by working for one of the different nations or as a pirate.

Played for hundreds of hours in my childhood, on Win XP & Win 7. As others say W10 & W11 not so great but runs great on Linux.

Amazing childhood game that has surprising amount of depth and qol but its a shame the port is so bad and needed some fixes that are available with a little research (i used copilot ai to help). If you want to play this, be prepared to fix graphical issues.

While the game is brilliant, it should be made known that it isn't really compatible with anything over Windows XP. This was working for me on Windows 7 64bit using an ATI gfx card but since updating it past 14.1 the game no longer works. I can get the game to boot onto the main menu screen but none of the selectable menu buttons are visable. On the Port Royale 2 fansite they state there is two option available,...
