I played the game from start to finish, did not try the multiplayer mode. And yet I don't know what the big fuss is about in the reviews... it's that terrible of a game. Yeah oke the combat sucks, its basically spray and pray, but it does work. The graphics is dated but it is a low budget game, not every game can be a AAA title. Not too bad, bit short and very buggy game, feels rushed and unfinished but aside from that it's not terrible. The platforming system is pretty good, the gunplay is like Gears of War and there are some parts where you can ride a bike that can drive on walls which is fun. Overall I'd give it a 6/10. Not good, certainly not great but a fun little game to play coop.

Damnation is a game that has its charm. But that charm stays in its premise and does not deliver. Graphics Damnation falls really short in everything and the first you immediately see as an example are the graphics. Even for its time graphics are really bad - everything is kinda blurry and steamy. Steamy not as steampunk steamy because these bad graphics have nothing to do with the game's style. Despite the mostly negative feedback from others, I would recommend this game. It still offers a lot of fun for its price and has some surprises. Granted, the main plot is ridiculous, gameplay is very linear, and the cutscenes and any form of conversation between Rourke and his comrades is carried out with far less attention than you can demand for a game released in 2009 - they all behave like robots. For being about a cowboy with an arsenal of weapons fighting and climbing your way through a steampunk world this game sure is boring. I wouldn't bother with this unless you are like me and have to try any game you thought looked cool when you were a kid.

Damnation tried its best to be something different, with basically a dieselpunk alternate future America, where the Union and the Confederacy destroyed themselves in mutual destruction, leaving a power vacuum that's now being filled by GSI, an evil corp that is taking over with almost endless supply of cannon fodder enhanced with special serum, and weapons dozens of years ahead of their time, like huge siege cannons....

Damnation is a third person steampunk adventure/platformer/shooter. I previously had this game on Disk, but it seem to have a lot of problems. The Steam version I have now played for about 100 minutes, and I have not encountered any bugs...very happy about that.
