When resuming a game the Starfury Game repeatedly fails to load the "1.map" file and as a result the character's ship dies. Starting a new game does not fix this issue, and I only get a black screen. The only way to reload the map is to uninstall and reinstall the game, and start the campaign over. But because you can't play the game 24/7, eventually I have to quit the game. And when I resume the game, it fails...

I enjoyed this game years back, and now with 64bit I can still play using 32bit graphics. I remember a tip on the game to ease you in by doing some trading between Sol & the system next door so to speak using the warp. The idea is to gain as much as possible in upgrading your initial ship before doing the main quest, that is the first of the 3 Campaigns you can choose from. This game was released in 2003 but has a certain 1996 feel to it. Graphics look dated by 2003 standards. Plus, I could only start it in "safe" graphic memory mode with 16 bit colors (otherwise I got directx error messages upon launch). Controls are tricky, dying is easy. Try at your own risk.

This was one of the first scifi PC games I had played as a child, so my purchase was almost 100% for nostalgia's sake. I had completely forgotten about it until I stumbled across it here on Steam! I had few crashes but it did run decently well on Windows 10. I did have to restart the game to fix FPS drops every once in awhile though. Garbage issues still never fixed like when you go through a warp point and want to go right back through it sometimes it will let you other times it will just keep glitching and not letting you do it over and over. FIXXXXXX THIS YOU MORONS

Seems dead broken. The controls are erratic at best and non-functioning at worst. There was no tutorial, but I was told to shuttle over to the base. When you right click on the star base, a 'shuttle over' button pops up. It doesn't work. When I checked the controls, the S key was supposed to send the shuttle over, it does nothing. Maybe I don't have a shuttle? Maybe, but as it was the only ship offered to me, that is...

I remember really enjoying this one on GameTap, but revisiting it, the flaws are simply too apparent. It's a fun game and could have been great, but ultimately feels like it's only half-finished. Full review: https://youtu.be/ik9O2OBflq4

A "space gofer" game, with all the Space Empires bits, dangerous missions, and the occasional dangerously hard to see planets you could ask for!
