Definitely a well made game, perfect for the RPG enthusiast. This is a successor to the game Empire, and while you don't have to play that to understand this, it would really help a lot, esp with the backstory. Also, Empire is an excellent game as well, so it's worth the play through first. Mystica has a great story, and the characters are all unique, with all their attributes, as well as character flaws. I've really enjoyed playing through "Mystica". It's an excellent successor to "Empire", the developer's first game. Although it's not necessary to play "Empire" first, I strongly recommend it; it's also a very good game, and many characters and locations appear in "Mystica" again, which continues "Empire's" story 30 years later. Hello there Mystica overall is a decent game. I will start with this. I do not recommend the optional stuff late game though. The grind is real and that's from someone that usually likes grinding. The enemies just balloon in health and damage. Its just not a fun rewarding endgame content with combat in mind. (Meaning fights are tedious in several optional cases.) The game's plot borders on brain-dead and lost my suspension of disbelief after a boardroom of a handful of people elected the equivalent of "magic Hitler", who was completely transparent about his desire to basically murder half the population just for having magic potential. It feels like it was written by a 5-year-old. Other than that, it's a decent enough Final Fantasy clone.

It's good. More JRPG than western RPG. Abilities unlock as you buy them and you'll probably buy them all. Abilities are purchased using a separate accumulative than exp though both are earned from killing. Map has some 'secrets' and if you miss them, you will miss ability unlocks. Hard to miss though. Great game, if you are a fan of classic JRPGs I would recommend trying it out. Definitely worth the price point.

Enjoyed it. I wish more games like this allowed you to turn off random encounters, letting you chose when to grind or letting you explore without having to fight every 10 steps. Do recommend playing Empire first though.

I'll give my early review to gain some traction for this game. I've only scratched the surface so far as I'm only in Chapter 2 and 8 hours into the game. I have not played the predecessor to this game "Empire" as I was unaware of it at the time of purchasing it. I would highly recommend this game to anyone who likes old school RPG's reminiscent of the SNES days. The game has a gripping and yet gritty story so far...
