Sadly can't recommend as a big fan of the turn-based roguelike genre. Bugs and performance issues aside, which will be hotfixed eventually. Gameplay loop & combat is similar to darkest dungeon alternating between adventure -> basebuilding/recruiting -> adventure etc... forming it into one bigger campaign with an actual story rather than being a fast paced in and out kind of game, if thats what you are looking for. ...

I cannot in all good faith recommend this game to anyone. Don't get me wrong, its a fun game, has a charming art style and interesting mechanics. Sadly though, its not done. There are tons of bugs, ranging from visually annoying, to mechanics not working right, to just flat out game crashing. A lovely looking game with a good idea and premise. Would post a more positive review if it weren't for the all the glitches. Some are tolerable but others cause the game to crash at least once every few hours. Hopefully some patches in the future can sort these out.

I rarely write reviews, but this game has been such a letdown I just have to. It could be so great. The artwork is awesome, the premise and storytelling are enjoyable, but... it's just such a slog. Gold becomes pointless, there aren't enough persistent upgrades to make farming enjoyable in any way, your lair and the upgrades are nice, but it's so hard to farm for the upgrades (and again, farming is just a chore) and...

The game is really fun to play. Very Darkest Dungeon like, which is a good thing. The bad things are the bugs. This is not a 1.0 release game despite being given the 1.0 since it is nearly unplayable. Your game will on occasion soft lock (typically when goblin breeding.). No big deal though since the game touts how it is constantly saving so your choices are permanent (which is great in theory) ....right??? ...

I am a huge fan of the art and the round-based strategy combined with the lair building and played through every similar game starting from darkest dungeon. Initially, I was in love with the game. The basic ideas are great and new concepts such as genetics and breeding brought new aspects to the genre.
