Although obviously an older game, it's still the best "modern" subsim there is. Yes, better than Modern Naval Warfare (2026 early access). If you're looking for an overall modern *strategy* game, Sea Power is king. The only problem is that installing (and configuring it to run great) can be a pain, but if you're a "navy nut" like me it's worth doing it. Spent over an hour watching the tutorials included in the game files just for me to see it doesn't work on newer operating systems when I finally went to play it. RIP my time.

Got it for a few dollars and put over 20 hours in. If I didn't have some other more modern sims I'd play much longer but I feel at 25 hours I've seen what I want to see. Wish some of the modern ones were as good with there immersive UI. Otherwise a great classic game to get when it goes on sale. I wasted my money purchasing this game, will not run on modern systems with not even recent gpu - there are are alleged fixes documented out there, but none of them work for my system - uninstalled and bought "Cold Waters"

Dangerous Waters is, without doubt, the BEST naval/submarine sim I've ever played, and I've played more than a few in my day.
