A surprisingly engaging little adventure. I've only just started, but seeing as the game (or at least this version...) is going bye bye very soon, I thought I'd drop it a quick review. Plays like a slower doom. Tons of style pouring through the visuals and music. The setting is great and the maps aren't too confusing. I think I prefer this over hexen if I am being honest.

A fun dark fantasy experience with a very cool atmosphere! I like the grim undertones mixed with the very high fantasy colorful look and cheery sounds and music. I point that out because most dark fantasy games I played are noticeably edgier while Witchaven may seem pretty innocent and E+ on the surface sort of like how OG D&D is. It's very charming. Both Witchavens are soon to be delisted from Steam so get them while you can! These versions can also be run with BuildGDX and Arachno SoundFont if you prefer your hexens not too crispy. Underrated!

Pretty much as I remembered it, even thought the graphics were awful way back when it came out. But, that gives it a comforting nostalgia I think. It's not an easy game, thanks muchly to the controls but the modern enhanced version with patches have largely fixed that.
