you know what they say, some things are culture exclusive. this game is a lot of nonsense. Firstly, the names. It's Asian names which is almost impossible to remember for Western ppl. All those different names get confusing and you lose track of who is who bc they all sound so similar. In the beginning it was fairly easy to reach the end of a case. Never played such a terrible detective game. The gameplay is awful, the production feels incredibly cheap and unfinished, and the developer’s self-satisfied attempts at planting “clever” little references are painfully unfunny. Great indie investigative game from China about several murder mysteries in a small Chinese city (and some wacky extra things you can discover). The interface is a bit janky (particularly the note-taking) and some translations are off (tenses and genders as you’d expect from a language without them) but the creator’s intentions come through. If you love detective games, this is amazing. Sometimes really hard! I love those games where you have to take notes and review every sentence several times, abolutely great game, highly recommended. They also did a english re-translation in 2026, so if you read a old review complaining about the translation, that is fixed now, really shows the love the dev put into this game, optimizing it even 4 years after...

CaseCracker is a super fun little detective game, with a perfectly simple gameplay and interface that encourages you to focus on the clues themselves and how they intertwine. finished only for the sake of completion. Some puzzles are too pretentious. Plot is contrived. Poor UX when dealing with a ton of keyword tiles on the left panel. The shortcut is also unnecessary.
