(transferred a save from another install. for first playthrough im doing yunica on nightmare, about 3/4 done.) Ys Origin is a fantastic game and definitely a good way to get into the series itself. In spite of the game being old, the combat is smooth and engaging, featuring element-based skills (wind, fire, thunder) that can be charged for maximum effect. Overall, the gameplay is fast, hard, and a thoroughly enjoyable experience,

Well, could not play game properly bc after first cutscene where your character talking with tree then goes for Tower, game stuck. Character should've come to screen but just empty hall with no key action no movement. I had a great excitement for whole series and this was my first one so that kind of experience just wrecked my joy.

AN addictive hack and slash. play one charecter for 12 hours then come backand beat it with another charecter after a few games. good tunage . i can see myself coming back to this yearly. As with many of the shorther Ys games its a fun palette cleanser.

Picked it up on sale, it was my introduction into Ys. Reminded me a lot of a topdown Zelda experience, fluid combat and boss fights were pretty sick, music was fantastic to the point where it gets stuck in your head at times haha. It's a shorter game 8~10 hours per story, I'm thankful I went with Yunica's story first as it was quite endearing, the melee gameplay style was quite a bit more enjoyable and her skills...
