I abandoned the mostly positive review I had written in lieu of recent developments though I'll share afterwards. Review of Bound By Flame Fun Fact (because every review should have one): I have 173 friends that own BBF and maybe 4 finished it. This game is really good! The gameplay is like Witcher 1 (the best Witcher game) The game on normal is a good difficulty. I think it has a weird problem with daggers having a dodge and the 2h don't. So you are basically using the daggers since they can animation cancel out of your attacks to dodge, which give you dmg. Music is good, voice acting is ok, graphics are great, good amount of enemy spawn.

It's got that one voice actor chick that played the elf in Dragon age2 DLC as the elf/ The elf in the Live action movie adaptation Dragon age. It hits like a 360 rpg game kind of a witcher 2 vibe...wait Its Kmart witcher 2!!! Starts slow, but picks up well. Get on sale.

All I have to say about this game in 2026 other than its probably very annoying if youre bad at parrying is that if you miss those kinda linear ass arpgs that were coming out on the 360/ps3 this might scratch an itch cause thats the only reason i played this and it delivered on that, pretty cool 6/10

Despite the mixed reviews I'm glad I played this. I found it to be just right. I found the story engaging and interesting and the gameplay/combat was super fun in my opinion. I love the fact that there aren't a million different options or skills, only warrior, ranger and the Fire path which was great. It was the perfect amount of time, not too long or short. Highly recommend this one.

It's ok as a budget title that doesn't take up much space on the storage drive, I guess. I feel like the developers had a lot of passion for the project, but maybe not the technical knowledge or a good understanding of game design and balance? I don't know. It just feels off.
