I'm going to be honest with you, the game is not worth getting even if it were free. It wouldn't be worth getting even if Steam gave you money to finish the game. The previous game, The Stalin Subway (Метро-2 or Metro-2) was bad, but it was tolerably bad, and I finished it without using cheats of any kind except for noclip at the very end of the game when certain doors stopped being openable. The Stalin SubwayL Red Veil has a few minor problems with moving around. Been stuck in a few places, but no problem with going back to a save and try again. The custom engine has some interesting aspects but the animation problems take away form the engine abilities. The game is largely a dungeon crawler. This game is crude, but playable. I like FPS games and challenges, but this game is bad. There are bugs throughout the gameplay, and it is too difficult!!!

The Stalin Subway: Red Veil is not a perfect game, but I still enjoyed it. It has that strange old-school FPS feeling which makes it fun in its own way. This game is also a childhood memory for me, so it gives me strong nostalgic feelings. The Soviet setting, dark metro tunnels, and weird story create a special mood. Worse than the first game but still somehow it becomes good when you play it. Also the music on the Red Square level was great.

i accidentally bought this game in 2015. it took me 11 years to remember it and actually play it. and now i can tell u my attitude: this is pure ♥♥♥♥. but i liked the red square :)

This game is kind of a guilty pleasure for me. I just completed it on normal difficulty and I honestly can't believe that it got released with all the problems the game mechanics have. Everything you can possibly imagine that could be wrong with a first person shooter is done in this game. The Stalin Subway: Red Veil is an interesting game and if you want to waste $2.39 (it was on sale) like I did, then you should go ahead and get it. Know though, that it is a waste of money and there are better games. For instance, Deadly Premonition is $2.49 at the time of writing, and it is a hundred times better for only ten cents more.
