Adorable and entirely dysfunctional slavjank title. Neither the original game 'Metro-2' nor its Steam release deserve praise, as you have to install a patch and tinker with the settings to even start a new game. Warning: install the patch here or the game will not work. Extract the files into the main game folder and overwrite when asked. There also exists an improvement mod to tweak the firing sounds of the weapons and improve the translation but it's fairly obscure and I have not personally tried it. - not optimized; - can crash or freeze at any random point; - so many bugs I gave up counting; - no widescreen support; Barely playable at all because of severe bugs and glitches. This game shouldn't been released to Steam. Let it rest as another low (or zero) budged FPS from the 00's. I gave it a try, I did not enjoy it at all. :)

An excellent punishment for anyone who has wronged you. Hideous graphics, awful gameplay, a soundtrack that will haunt them long after playing. Best of all, if they try to quit it's likely to lock up and keep them staring at the game over screen for hours. Just them and a greyscale image of a soldier staring blankly into the distance. This game makes me... feel things I played it for the first time when I was seven. It was all in russian, I had no sound and understood nothing. Playing it again made me feel so nostalgic. im 34 and been gaming all my life. Idk why it took me 34 years to realize that playing all these older 4:3 games in windowed mode in an actual 4:3 resolution such as 1280x960 or 1440x1080 = actually GORGEOUS. It makes you quickly realize that old games dont have bad graphics at all.
