Needs mods to get it working so I can't recommend as it should work out of the box. The FMV cutscenes and music are great, but the Star Wars theming carries this game hard. Level design is awful and most your time is spent crawling through sewers and ventilation systems. Force powers and lightsaber combat are lacking, and the guns all feel the same. I am surprised how much I enjoyed this game. The gunplay is very fun, the level design mostly great and full of surprises (at least to me), the cutscenes were very charming and cool, but the lightsaber combat could definitely be better, the Dark Jedi boss fights were annoying, and I definitely found myself a little too lost now and then.

Dark Forces II is an old-school first-person shooter with both combat and levels that remind me of the original DOOM games. Of course, this is all in a Star Wars setting complete with aliens, lightsabers and force powers. Overall, this is a definite recommend for Star Wars fans who enjoy or would like to experience an older style of shooter gameplay. The level design, as other reviews mention is quite vertical,...

They game is weird, old, and janky. It kinda breaks sometimes like during the final fight. But I find it charming.

Coming straight here after my playthrough of Dark Forces, I can say this game is a pretty significant improvement, while yes there is still some weird level design, I really enjoyed the second game in the series! I know it says I only played for 6 minutes but I actually launched the game from the unofficial Jedi Knight Remaster, similarly to how I played Dark Forces. I appreciated the boss battles though most of them...

JKDF2 brings moderate improvements compared to DF1. The story is more engaging, mostly because it has more cutscenes. The addition of lightsabers, Force powers, and more varied areas makes the gameplay more fun. However, just like in DF1, poor direction still occur, sometimes I got lost because I missed a key or didn't realize a button/door looked like part of the environment. Great sequel to the original classic. the controls are terrible however but you can easily re-bind them. thanks to the community several patches are updated to make the game run a bit more smoothly. some issues with FPS and mouse inversion may be present. buy it on sale and if you dont mind tinkering, its a solid title with good shooter action and some nostalgia/fan service for star wars nerds. 8.9/10 buy it!!!!!!!
