Just like with Spartan Assault, I have the same fun-killing issues. It's just as simplistic as befits a port of a mobile game and it even has more style, with some gorgeous backgrounds and overlays to sell this game as being set in a full on invasion...very cool! Fun twin stick shooter, much better than Spartan Assault. Fine addition to the Halo franchise, good enough to spend an afternoon or two enjoying it's gameplay. One problem I have with Spartan Strike is the requirement to get gold medals on all previous missions to unlock last chapter. It's not difficult at all but it's artificially making the game longer than it should be.

The idea of a Halo top down shooter could be genuinely awesome but Microsoft or any studio will not take the concept seriously and actually translate the games into an actual top down shooter that has depth. Admittedly this 2nd game was harder than the 1st. They added a few more classic weapons, like the BR and the incineration canon, making it a lot more fun and familiar. Although its not like the FPS games I still felt the aura of Halo over me. You can even multi carry weapons and abilities. You cant T-bag which is not okay with me. Pretty good game if you like TDS & Halo. Despite missions being short-length, it still offers good amount of gameplay and pretty decent sandbox. Recommended to get it from the Halo: Spartan Bundle so you get Halo: Spartan Assault too.
