This is an incredibly outdated piece of software, but it served me well while I used it. There is other, better software available online for free these days, so look elsewhere.

I'm not sure what is wrong with other people using this program recently. I used this back when it came out in 2015 and it worked fine. Took an extended break from making videos and came back now in 2026. Installed normally. I created a quick 3 minute video to help refresh my memory and edited everything just fine. Still works as I remembered it. I don't want to pay for newer software atm and this has done just fine.

farewell movie studio platinum, got good use out of it editing videos as a teen. while i do miss this movie studio's UI a little, davinci resolve is free and more than adequate a replacement these days so it's no biggie

Kdenlive beats this one in most things nowadays and is free, but when this was one of the ones that you got for cheap it was worth it back in the day, you can't buy it anymore for a reason I suppose.

This was my main video editor for years. Worked fine until recently. Now it won't start up anymore. Sucks that I spent money on software that inevitably becomes bricked for reasons I do not understand nor care to.

Basically just like Sony Vegas 13, but easier, cheaper, user friendly, compatible with touch screen and better. Original price = 80$-100$+ Steam price = 20$-50$ Will profit again! :D!

Being fairly new to video editing, I found this software to be easy to use. There are a variety of different tutorials online/Youtube that can help you accomplish what you need. I tested out the Trial version before buying, and checked all the features I felt I needed to produce Let's Plays/game video content. I just had a chat with the Sony support and I'm very disappointed ... I could not find the effects plugins that are advertised on there Home page for the Movie Studio 13 Suite. They told me that this version here on Steam is a DIFFERENT VERSION than the Version advertised on their Homepage. This means that this software is seriously crippled and that the "great" offer is just a reduced content strategy to lure people...

As you can probably tell, I've used this program a LOT. And while it doesn't do every single little thing I wish it did, it gives me the tools I need to find some way to make it work.
