Kholat is one of those games that gets inside your head almost immediately. I only have around 24 minutes in it so far, but honestly, that was already enough for me to ♥♥♥♥ myself about five times. The atmosphere is insanely heavy, the sound design is disturbing, and the whole game feels psychologically exhausting from the very beginning. Seriously, whoever came up with this ♥♥♥♥ must be some kind of psychopath...

It's a pretty meh horror walking simulator, you've three things with you a map, a compass, and your flashlight. Out of the blue even if you turn off your flash and crouch the demons/souls whatever run at you and you die. Spoiler Alert. The game has 3 acts but act 3: Really shouldn't exist, it's the ending in which you just need to walk for 30 seconds and that's it. I don't recommend this even on sale, unless you...

The good: - Great atmosphere. - Learn how to use a compass. - After finishing the game, can reload the last save. The bad: - Running on controller/keyboard gets exhausting.

I solved the mystery in about 20 minutes. Ghosts! Ghosts did the bad thing! I ran right into one and it killed me. I just saved you 20 bucks. Kinda disappointed in the reveal. As far as the game goes, its basically a walking simulator with the occasional quick time event (dodging something) or stealth. Navigating the busted map system is the main challenge of the game.

Came with the Humble Bundle, beautiful atmosphere but if you're buying individually you'll be mighty sour quickly.

It's really not very good. The premise has a lot of promise, but the implementation falls flat. You wander around a snowy wilderness looking for clues to a disaster and trying to avoid supernatural entities tracking you down to kill you. It's difficult without being particularly rewarding, but it does have a spooky and lonely atmosphere, that when desperately trying to avoid the monsters can be nicely dreadful....
