(While this review also draws from the time I've sunk into the iOS version, after playing DX I can safely say that what I've written applies to both the original and DX versions of the game.) TLDR; If you want a game as complex as Puzzle Quest or other similar titles, this isn't what you are looking for. A poor port of a mobile game with a couple of glaring issues: Audio balance (LOUD!) Poor localisation (it's not even done) No exiting except Alt + F4 The game itself isn't half bad and kind of addictive, but there are far better examples of this kind of genre mashup. Also, there really sin't much JRPG going on here, which is kinda disappointing.

What is Block Legend DX? Well, wrong question. The question rather is, what is it not? And the answer here is: "A motivating RPG". And that could be so easy to change... Block Legend DX is a "match 2" RPG. On your grid of 7x7 squares you click on blocks to remove them, where two or more similar blocks next to each other can only be clicked. Kinda fun game, and nice sprites. Aaaanyway, there seems to be a bug that doesnt allow to gain any achievement, and also doesnt have a close button, so you have to play on windowed mode, or stop it from steam. A bit annoying, but the game itself is ok, so i give it a positive review.

Don't buy this game This game is buggy, unbalanced and lack of introduction. Moreover, you can't unlock any achievement on Steam due to bug. The game is fun for about an hour. It was a few steps away from being a motivating and inspired puzzle game, but unfortunately it's just an endless loop of doing the same thing. It doesn't seem like Steam Cloud Saves are enabled for the game so all that grinding for unlocks seems kinda moot considering the achievements broke a few years ago (the achievement triggers don't line up with Steam API or something). I liked the idea but since your character can't keep the levels, it's really dumb. Also, why the heck do YOU have to suffer a penalty when the game tells you that there is no more moves left and it has to make a new pattern of blocks. Like, the game gives the blocks out randomly and then YOU have to suffer the penalty? That's deep bull. Glad I bought it only for 1e.
