Been a while since I got this (When I was new to the whole game dev scene). Testing it in 2026 made me glad I didnt really use this much. There's no Hierarchy so you gotta guess where your models are. The UI/UX is VERY basic, Even UI/UX I made on an engine I'm learning DX11 with (Using ImGuizmo) looks better. Get Godot if you're looking for an alternative solution to Unity or Unreal. Or GameMaker. (I only...

This version of Esenthel is missing a number of things. The Settings option is missing from the menu (the "M" on the bottom left), and none of the sample projects are included. I don't know why they didn't include them in this version, but it does handicap the engine. I would say download non-Steam version from their website. It *should* have those things included. Though I haven't checked myself recently.

provides a game engine and editor that nobody ever used to make a successful product. Did we need another Unity-but-worse? No? Ok. This is now abandoned by the developer, too. It wasn't great then, it's worse now. In terms of value for your time and money, there's no up front price for this software app. But just because a utility is free doesn't automatically mean it's good or useful. SteamDB shows us this...

ohgodno.jpg EDIT: Decided to add more info since this review seemed pretty popular. > Ugly and not so easy to use interface The interface is really ugly and looks like an old java application. Have it, sure, but please add an option for using Visual Studio's interface instead, since you still need it. > Only compiles for Windows and Android (Really?) On their website they say it can compile for a lot of different...

0/10 - it's definitely not essential I admit it, I am a sucker for editors and toolsets. But in the case of EE, it's the editor that sucks. Usually I spend several hours on everything I can get my hands on just to learn something, even if I don't actually plan to create a game with it. But 3 hours with the Esenthel Engine where just a complete waste of time. I have never encountered a toolset or editor that made it...

This engine is actually around for quite some time. It is new on Steam and perhaps this is not the best place for it, but having used it on quite a few projects over the last years I can only say it is a very neat tool. I don't write that much reviews on steam, but I think the earlier review for this project are bit unfair. So I've decided to write down some thoughts of my own. It's complicated Esenthel is not...

Not user friendly at all, requires previous experience with similar softwares, and the tutorials that are talked about over and over again, are no where to be found.

I have been working with Esenthel for a few months now and my experience so far has been great, it's a well featured engine that is very easy to use, with a good amount of tools a clean API and over a hundred well documented tutorials that guide you through the use of most of the engine's functionality. The engine is receiving updates constantly, the developer has a zero bug tolerance policy and along with the rest...

On Linux -nopie is set on the clang command line, causing a build error; it should be -no-pie. The Steam launch doesn't work, but you can view the location and run it from there. Any time you chose to build, the config files are rewritten and over write a correction to -nopie. HOWEVER, you can learn where the project actually builds from. Once you understand that, you can open the location, update the configs, and...
