CompareTIS-100 is an open-ended programming game by Zachtronics, the creators of SpaceChem and Infinifactory, in which you rewrite corrupted code segments to repair the TIS-100 and unlock its secrets. It’s the assembly language programming game you never asked for!

Today's update fixes a bug where some leaderboards would not show up in the bonus campaign. If you see anything weird in the game, whether or not it's related to leaderboards, please send me an email (zach@zachtronics.com) to let me know! It's been a while since I've updated TIS-100 and I'm always afraid that Unity is going to do something weird.

When it released, I played and completed the levels with great interest because I thought it would help be find a job/do my job. Boy I was so wrong. Now I dont feel motivated. Unique processor architecture to the best of my knowledge. Co-located memroy + compute chips are in the hype right now, who know somebody might make this IRL with more compute and memory.

This is a weird one. Do you ever imagine yourself recreationally writing assembly code for a processor where the simple act of memory access requires consideration? Yeah, me neither, but I still had a lot of fun with TIS-100. TIS-100 is not a game for everyone, or debatably a game at all really, but for those few who enjoy problem solving for that rush to a job well done, then here's another dopamine dispenser that...

Fun puzzle game for the price advertised. I work on software many levels higher in abstraction to what this game simulates so I can't comment on how accurate it is. The closest thing to my line of work are synchronous/blocking communication systems. I haven't finished the game yet but I'm instinctively reaching for non-blocking or event driven patterns that don't work here. If you want to learn programming there...

I work in compilers. We made compilers specifically to stop having to write assembly by hand. This hurts my brain. Why have you done this to us, Zach, WHY?! 10/10 would suffer again.
