Secret Files 1 is quite a mixed bag, in terms of cutscenes and variety of Level layouts, playtime and scenery it is probably an A-class work, as it is beautiful and it holds up surprisingly well, but this is where every positive thing about it ends, sort of. There are some really great puzzles in it for a point and click game, then there are some godawful or confusing ones such as the Recipe puzzle or the Compass...

"Daddy!" Gameplay is fun, and the puzzles are mostly good. Be prepared for pixel hunting. (Good luck finding the match on the ground!) Value: The game is really long, so you are definitely getting your money's worth. CONS: The writing and voice acting are atrocious. They really hold this game back. Game would have been much better without any voice acting. Because of those cons, there's no way I'll play this game...

very mediocre point&click. the only justification for buying this is the fact that it is a very niche genre and i guess some people might want to play every single somewhat enjoyable point&click? stay aware if you're not an absolute hardcore fan of the genre. basically a bunch of randoms enjoyed "the broken sword", went "HEY WHAT IF WE COPY THIS CLASSIC ALMOST 1 BY 1, IRELAND PUB SCENE AND ALL" and replaced george...

Pros Good graphics. Great puzzles not too easy. if you sit and think long enough and check everything the answers are all there. For an old game its brilliant. Cons Screen size does not seem adjustable and can upset the desktop.

66 from Metacritic is about right. Would only recommend to someone who is an adventure game fiend and has played all the other, better adv games out there.
