I was promised interesting story telling and fun puzzles. I got some demon ghost story that a 13 year old might find edgy, but is just boring to me. The "puzzles" are just chores. Zero stars.

Fun and relaxing horror-themed point and click. I enjoyed the atmosphere and the slowly revealed story. This is a self-contained game, so although there is a sequel it is not necessary to enjoy this game. Until Goetia 3 comes out (if it ever does), I'd probably recommend only playing this one unless you really want more of this kind of gameplay.

Art: 5/5 - beautiful. Story: 5/5 - compelling. Music: 4/5 - it worked? Didn't really notice. Mechanics: 4/5 - fascinating restrictions and made it feel extra interactive. Puzzles: 2/5 - the quest journal gives hints, but doesn't tell you when a puzzle is impossible due to a skill or region you haven't unlocked. Having to comb the manor multiple times only to find out I should come back to it later is so...

Goetia has two things: A mysterious story that is paced well so that you'll want to keep progressing, and a lot of puzzles in the form of riddles that gradually become more difficult as the game goes on. If these two things are to your liking, this game is definitely worth a try. It also has two more things that may make you not want to play it: Very few hints - you may spend a good chunk of time in just one...

It is more like a narrative puzzle game than a true PnC game. Keep this in mind. The game itself is quite hard. Puzzles are non-linear, your "inventory" can hold 1 item at a time, but still, if you like gothic horror novels, it is the right game for you. You are a ghost who tries to find out what happened in a mystical, eerie old manor. It is quite minimalist in nature, but it has its charm that keeps you coming back...

I have no idea if I liked this or not, in the end. The first 2/3s or so are really intriguing. I love the atmosphere. But that last 1/3... if there wasn't a walkthrough guide, I'd have given up. Not only are the puzzles really difficult, but also painfully tedious. I'm sure if there wasn't the guide I'd have missed them all together. So by the time I reached the end, I stopped caring. I just wanted it over...

10/10 puzzle exploration game. you wake up as a spirit your house that is abandoned and need to figure out what happened. the music in the game was brilliant and added to the atmosphere. would play again

A really nice atmosphere. A lot more narrative than puzzle however some of the puzzles took a while to figure out. All in all a pretty good game on sale.
