Empire of the Gods is a decently fun strategy card game with an interesting theme (though it's quite shallow) and a competent gameplay loop. Boring! The concept is interesting, but doesn't have a lot of depth. Your only stategy is to beat the 'time' counter. I loved the developer's two 'Hero of the Kingdom' games, so I bought this one for sale at a buck. Then I made most of that dollar back through luck with dropped cards. Empire of the Gods was my first Steam game. I found it to be both enjoyable and challenging, to the point I needed to keep coming back until I unlocked all of the achievements. This is a deceptive little game - you click resources to transmute them into others - power, faith, life, wealth and time - assisted by various special cards but it does manage to be subtle in the methods you have to adopt to master it.
