CompareMidvinter is a cozy little point-and-click game, which invites you to explore Swedish folklore using puzzles and riddles as well as compelling music and voice over. In it, you as a player take on the role of gnome - the guardian of the farm - and get to interact with various dark and fantastical creatures.

The achievements almost provide more content than the game itself, but sometimes I just want to kill some time without investing many hours or days (or weeks, or months) in the experience, and for that, Midvinter delivers.

The game description says this is a "cozy little point-and-click game". At first glance, it does look a lot like a classic Point & Click adventure. Point and click adventure that takes inspiration from Swedish folklore. I'll be honest, I played free games, similar to this one, that were better. If you're really into achivement hunting you will be happy to hear that this game can be finished in about 30 minuts as long as you follow a guide, without a guide you can still beat it in an hour or so. I wouldn't buy it for more than 50 cents, that's all I got to say.

The UI is awful. Animations are sllloooww. Very little exposition about the folklore. You can complete the game in 30 minutes. Very little replay value unless you want to see all the endings and get all the achievements. I 100%ed it in 87 minutes.

This game probably isn't for people who are in a hurry, aren't familiar with Swedish folklore and/or the language, or who just don't like cozy point-and-click games. Unfortunately I can't recommend this. There's just too little substance for the price tag, even half off. There's practically only a dozen scenes with only a handful of interactions. The whole thing is completely beatable within half an hour, getting the happy ending without doing anything more than logically following the clues presented by each interactable item.
