So the game has decent pixel arts and background, a brief tutorial when you start playing, as well as some dialogue which gives context to the story and goal of our character Joe. However, the execution of the game play is where Tomb Joe falls short. Actually, the button R resets the level, and will reset you after you die. No, the game doesn't tell you this. Also, the animations don't link well, your momentum gets cut every time you land from a jump or fall, and the transitions between screens / areas can be buggy (or just poorly put together). I've been a gamer for my entire life. Getting to experience all the beautiful indie games that are out there like Celeste, Undertale and much more, I know what a good game is supposed to have. You need a protagonist, and a way to move your character. Tomb Joe literally has all of that and more. This is the perfect Christmas gift for your grandchildren.
