Announcing VoiceAttack Version 2

2025-03-10

Just a heads up that the store page for VoiceAttack version 1 (this store page) will be retired on Steam (tentatively) on Friday, March 14th 2025. In its place, the new store page for VoiceAttack version 2 will be launched. Links to the Community Hub for VoiceAttack version 1 will be provided to ensure continued access to discussions and reviews. Please note that VoiceAttack version 1 will remain fully functional and available in your Steam client library. Although the store page for VoiceAttack version 1 will be closed, critical updates will still be delivered through your Steam client. VoiceAttack version 1 will no longer be available for purchase on Steam. However, it will be accessible to owners of VoiceAttack version 2 via a separate installer that will be made available on the VoiceAttack.com website: https://voiceattack.com/downloads.

Last year, not too long after my original purchase, this product was discountinued and replaced with a v2 for all future updates (meaning people will have to pay again if they want to keep any plugins that become dependent on v2, up to date going forward). It appears there are different versions. I'm on 1.x and cannot use profiles created by the 2.0 crew. I haven't been unable to upgrade to version 2.x via steam without paying again. What's going on? This is very poor behavior. 2 tier access depend on what?? I thought steam didn't allow this sort of poor behaviour. I don't want hear any "oohhh technical this and that rubbish" .. Its technically possible for other apps....
