This game is really not worth playing. This game is decent at first but, just like a lot of other games like this, you'll eventually get to a point where your progress is softlocked for several months unless you put in potentially thousands of dollars to get the items you need to progress. On my main account, I've been stuck in tier 13 for about 2 months now and I have no idea what I need to do to progress further as...

First, it is NOT at all pay to win. You can pay to speed up, but even that is not much help. I was able to play essentially nonstop for as much as I could for multiple days in a row with strategic use of the cooldowns the bonus stuff that pops up.
