I've played this game both by myself and with my wife. We had alot of fun, and the game has alot of replay value in it. It takes a while to unlock everything in the game(upgrades) and there are a couple of extra characters to choose from, two of which you unlock through medium difficulty task done on the fly. Great little game. Glad it popped up on my radar. Visual style reminds me of Earthbound, gameplay is a bit of a less brutal Binding of Isaac. Lots of perks to unlock, solid replayablity, solid online/ offline multiplayer. Pick it up!

not sure if it's fair to downvote this game as it's super fun, or at least it would be if it didn't lag so much. i know it's an issue related to lack of servers rather than the game but it kinda sucks that my friends and i are unable to play without at least a full second or so of delay. you might enjoy this if you don't lag playing on asian servers but if you're from OCE you're probably gonna have a bad time....

UPDATE 4/15: DO NOT worry about the "Mixed" review on Steam right now. It's a huge salty group negatively review bombing the game. I'll never understand. To keep it simple, Metaverse Keeper is a roguelike game very similar to games like The Binding of Isaac and Enter The Gungeon. You can expect to be doing multiple runs to traverse a dungeon and hopefully getting further and further each time. It’s a top down view...

I really wanted to enjoy this game, but while using a controller, the right stick doesn't work, and the auto-targeting option in the options menu doesn't work all the time. This means that during a boss fight, I will target minions much of the time instead of the boss. This isn't a big deal until the screen is full of mobs, even in normal rooms. I love roguelites. I suck at roguelites. This is a fun, cartooney, not too crushingly difficult roguelite I can play over and over again when I have 45 minutes to kill.

One of my favorite top-down action roguelites that I rarely see recommended. It has a fairly low difficulty, fun weapons and art style, good enemy and room variety.
