Recettear is the story of an item shop, the girl who lives in it, and the fairy who turned her life upside down. Recette Lemongrass finds herself in charge of an item shop built into her house, in order to pay back a loan her father took and then skipped out on - and Tear, her newfound fairy "companion", won't take no for an answer!

If you ever wanted a "open a shop" game with some adventuring on the side, this is by far the best of its kind, which is kind of funny considering there has been dozen of attempts at copying Recettear, but really none of its clones have managed to nail that very satisfying feel that only Recettear brings when you sell stuff and start profiting up, despite its age and more basic graphics. But maybe its due its age...

it's a great game. if you liked old school harvest moon and rune factory games youll probably like this game as it is similar vibes but shop focused.

Recettear is fairly fun and reminds me of PS2-era RPG and farming games. While I understand why some people spend tens of hours, it gets repetitive quickly for me, so I only finished the main story. While I recommend it (partly because it's so cheap on sale), keep in mind that it lacks modern settings. Consider installing the 'FancyScreenPatchForRecettear' mod if you want widescreen and other features, although I...

Recettear is a bit of a liminal fever dream...a game that, to me, is iconic in its simplicity. What you see on the Store page is what you get: there's the VN driving the narrative, the Dungeons to gather the items, and the Shop to sell those items and simultaneously gear up the adventurers. Nothing in particular about Recettear is special, but you won't find another Shop Simulator / RPG title that hits quite like...

a good relex game. Mybe some improvment. 1. i do hope it would do cloud saving which would be a plus. 2. advanturer recruit would not be so ramdom.

Came back to this game after I felt the need for a narrative light, mechanic based adventure. Boy did this hit the spot. You can't go wrong trying to figure out who can buy what, for what percentage, and going full capitalism mode in order to pull yourself out of debt! This game is wish fulfillment, with just a little bit of effort. You might spend 10 to 15 hours 'beating' the base game. But from what I've seen...

not a big fan of the artstyle but am a big fan of the gameplay itself. i know its accurate to how it feels to be a shopkeeper of a very small store bc i had to stop playing it bc it felt like i was at my job of being the sole employee of a mom-and-pop shop

Game has been out for 16 years and remains the best shop sim on the market. You owe it to yourself to pick this up.
