I had this game on my old CDROM pc either using window 2000 or ME` for the game to be available on steam, but the challenge is steam no longer supports old operating systems and the game has not been made in a playable state by the developer/ so if i want to play this game, i either need to use my old pc going back to windows xp and looking for the CD rom to run this game everytime i want to play it. if you can...

So many years on, I still keep coming back to this game. Even though it is quite old, it has one of the best economy simulations in the genre, and the gameplay and graphics still hold up well. A must have for fans of the genre.

My favorite game of all time, was literally playing it last night, this morning, STEAM UPDATE BRICKED THE GAME!!! I AM BEYOND PISSED, EDIT: FIXED find the discussion thread for running on win 10/11, Mr. Skinny, it worked for me

One of the all time greatest games, although clearly inferior to it's predecessor. While I recommend the game, I don't recommend that you buy it on Steam, as it's not a patched version that will run without some tinkering. Get it on GOG instead, which is the patched 1.05 release, which you can immediately upgrade to 1.06 with just one additional download. The method of patching the game described in the Steam...

Uninstalled and contact Steam about a refund prior to writing this review, but wanted to put it out there for folks to know: Even though the store page specifies, "Starting January 1st, 2024, the Steam Client will only support Windows 10 and later versions," the game does NOT actually work on Windows 10. I played the CD-ROM version of this game a lot when I was a kid. As an adult, I bought the "Coast to Coast" expansion pack on Steam and rediscovered my love for Railroad Tycoon 3 all over again. The gameplay has never been better!

Train good. This game's a classic. Would recommend a thousand times over. HOWEVER!!!! You will need to patch it for it to run, like, at ALL. Look for the community posts about dgVoodoo2. Frustrating that it doesn't work on its own!! But it's fixable, and doesn't take too long, And the game's so good I have to recommend it nonetheless.
