This game is an absolute fever dream. I don't know the story behind it's development, as it is rather janky, to say the least, but it is a very interesting play, and I plan on spending a good amount of time in this game as I can. Also, shoutout to Josh Strife Hayes for covering this in one of his Youtube videos, I would have never have found this bizarre game without him. With love, Gamma.

It's a shame such an interesting game is brought down by how badly it controls. Moving around and generally exploring works fine, but every single interaction in the game has a huge delay on it. Hit the button to gather something? Takes 2 seconds to work, and you can't interact with something else while it's thinking. Dragging something into the bank or your inventory? Wait a few seconds because you can't drag...

Thank you Josh Strife Hayes for bringing this gem to light. Day 1 of his video releasing made me download this. And in the few days I've been playing, the devs have been working around the clock to fix as many bugs and lag issues as possible. There's something endearing about making yourself a scarf when you're a nude skeleton. Dreamy, ethereal, beautiful and strange it's really very unique and quite playable with all the updates. Try it, you'll probably have nightmares for months but don't worry. It's what the gods intended.

I, as many other people did, found this game through the JoshStrifeHayes video. But Animyst stands on its own. Animyst is an MMO with a vast, sprawling map (with no load screens!) called The Droughts.
