First the positive: -Pixel art and music are good, controls well and the briefings between each missions are all done nicely. -You don't take damage from hitting the ground which is great. -The game has an upgrade system too which to me are always a huge plus in shmups. -Enemy placement is mostly pretty good too. Exile squadron is a simple classic left-to-right shooter. You instantly feel nostalgia once you get past the main menu. I urge the developer to remove it because once you get into the command center it's great. The theme and story are my favorite part of the game. The layout and pixel art remind me of games past. This game brings me back to the arcade games I've played in the late '80s. Exile Squadron can be quite challenging, but since you don't have to use quarters to replay the game (like in the arcade cabinets of old), you can try to overcome this challenge as many times as you want.
