The game bears considerable resemblance to titles such as "Crisis in the Kremlin", though I'd say it still isn't as deep. With that said, it explores an extremely interesting and often overlooked period of political history - the 2014 events in Ukraine. It's like Crisis in the Kremlin, except it's more like you are Ukraine than Russia. Unfortunately the translation is a 'bit' off, and (so far), I've found the game to be so heavily scripted in events that trying to go your own way, even with careful planning, doesn't really work, and you rushed along a path that either agrees with your plans, or clashes and you quickly lose (or so that's my experience so...
