2025-04-21Two years since the last patch, but we're still dedicated to improving The Sekimeiya experience! The bulk of the changes in this patch are related to the text and dialogue. Text Changes • The entire script has been reviewed and many lines slightly tweaked or condensed to make for a smoother reading experience. • Improved grammar and fewer typos. • The actual information conveyed to the player has not changed, only some of its presentation. Other Changes • Stats screen loads data from a local file. Unfortunately the analytics provider we were using changed their API pricing, and we found that it was not worth it to continue pulling data from their servers live. We've decided to export the stats and gave players a frozen version of it, which would be updated in future releases. • Fixed a crash that occurs when jumping to a choice. Troubleshooting

• If you attempt to load an existing save file on a line that was deleted, the game may refuse to load the save. Simply load another save, open the search screen which contains the backlog, and jump forward to your most recently unlocked line. If you do not have any other saves, starting a new game and jumping forward in the backlog will do the same thing. Current Work We're in the process of upgrading to Ren'Py 8, and the game is being modernized to use Python 3. Some of the things being worked on are: • Improved controller handling. Screens are being reworked to prioritize gamepad controls. This has been challenging given they were built with mouse and keyboard in mind, but it's opened the path for... • Multi-platform support. We've acquired a Steam Deck since last time, and work on console versions is on-going. • Improved code base. Many bugs have been fixed and a lot of beginner mistakes reworked.
