Its great, rad soundtrack, awesome combat, and a lot of build variety, and I really loved deflecting stuff to cause obscene amounts of damage.

Deflector takes the bullet-heaven formula and adds a satisfying twist with its deflection mechanic. Bouncing projectiles back at enemies feels great and gives combat a more active, skill-based edge than most games in the genre. Runs are fast, upgrades are interesting, and mastering enemy patterns is genuinely rewarding. A solid roguelite for anyone who likes action-packed gameplay with a bit more involvement.

Just can't really recommend this one. It is a clunky Hades clone and there isn't anything in terms of story or gameplay that does anything to draw me in. I will likely continue to play just to test some more stuff out but I can't really recommend it when there are better options in this genre already. Maybe it could be worth it on sale, tbh I don't even remember how this one made it into my library...

I enjoyed the Deflection mechanic, but given the 20$ price tag this feels shallow. Summary This game focuses on fast paced action and pretty much nothing else. Gameplay: avoid yellow balls, deflect or avoid red ones, do damage. It's fun for a while, but gets stale after a couple of hours. Deflector is sci-fi Hades, based on bullet hell, parry, and dodging mechanics. Its super cool game. I really enjoyed every try in this game. Awesome looks and awesome action. You do have to deal with some RNG and that might complicate things. But some upgrade combos really pack a punch and make a big difference. Def recommended! Can't wait for the full release!

overall pretty fun. though upgrades don't currently offer a ton of build variety, my playthroughs have always ended up fairly well rounded and similar with the only difference being what debuffs they apply and some mild effects with deflecting attacks. but the game shows a lot of promise and i imagine they'll make upgrades more diverse and help playthroughs feel more unique in future updates.
