Honestly, I was expecting a simple retro platformer and would have been very happy with that, but in reality, this "project" goes far beyond that. It has a magnificent soundtrack, captivating locations + boss fights, and extremely engaging gameplay mechanics. It would probably be absolutely amazing if this game had an additional, toggleable option for fast travel between save rooms. But overall, even without these...

Fun little metroidvania. The bow is a lot of fun to use and they come up with some neat progression elements that utilize it. Map is bigger than I expected while still being fun to explore (minus some areas where it's unclear if it's blocked off from one direction). I also enjoyed the bosses. A lot of Gameboy energy radiating off this game. The very start is a bit of a slog, since you start off so weak, but the rest of the game is a blast. If you have some kind of issue that prevents you from repeatedly tapping a button, the game does require a button press for every arrow shot. As a core strategy, I regularly tapped out 3-6 arrow bursts in combat. Just an FYI for anyone with these kinds of issues.
