A fun retro shooter that really captures that classic Heretic vibe with its dark fantasy aesthetic and complex, vertical level design. While the actual necromancy mechanics feel a bit tacked on, juggling the various magical weapons and transforming your body to tear through hordes of monsters is deeply satisfying.

Love Quake and Doom this feels like a nice fresh breath air. So it's the usually heavily inspired by both franchises and ran with a inventory system to hold all sorts of different spells like transformations or summon monsters with a nice variety of weapons that won't feel from the others like a knockoff! Hands of Necromancy is an accidental retro Hexen/Heretic clone. Seriously, this game really disappoints in many of the areas it claims would be its strengths. The map design is awful, the combat is annoying at times, and the weapons barely do any damage. Enemies often seem to ignore being hit entirely. The gargoyles are like pestering flies in the summertime, constantly popping up out of nowhere. In general, enemies...

The game is good. But graphical quality is worse than my mod's that I never finished working on- about halfway done. Your graphics are halfway done. its just offputting. 2D graphics even if they are pixel mess at low resolution, should still contain something else than few colours. enemy sprites are few pixels x few pixels. Pretty fun boomer shooter, interesting mechanics with transforming yourserlf to beat different obstacles. Wished it was a bit less obtuse in where to go but ya can figure out just exploring every corner of the world

I shall say it is very original and funny. I haven't completed heretic or hexen yet. So I don't have the right background to compare them. But I have completed wizordum which I liked very much. However, I must say this is even better. I like the transformations. And now that you can select the action hub type of gameplay it's not too much

The gzdoom engine is really amazing and you can do so much with it! I am impressed by this piece of work that has a satisfying play style and grandiose maps with alot of challenging enemies.

I can appreciate games when it feels like the developers have put love and passion and effort into a game, but this just immediately doesn't feel like that. Here's some examples of low effort you can notice in your first minute loading up the game. - Default GZDoom font on a letterboxed pre-menu screen. - "Hands of Necromancy" menu title is slightly smaller than the same title in the background video. - Terrible...
