2026-09-21Hello, gardeners! Hi Eggplant! v1.8.3 is now live on Windows and macOS. This update introduces Steady Growth and improves the growing tutorials and plant death feedback, helping you learn more about your garden with each attempt. Introducing Steady Growth If a plant dies, your run continues as long as you still have seeds or living plants. Clear the withered plant by hand and prepare the ground to plant again. • Start with 10 seeds. Each planting uses one seed. • Each harvested eggplant returns three seeds, up to a maximum of 10 held seeds. • The run only ends when you have no seeds left and no living or harvestable plants remain. • Harvest a total of 10 eggplants to win. The original challenge is still available as Classic Hardcore: a single plant death ends the run, and harvesting does not return seeds. Clearer tutorials and plant death feedback

• Tilling and early watering tips respond to the results of your actions, helping you learn the charge levels. • Over-fertilizing triggers a fertilizer burn warning. Tutorials wait for tool actions and effects to finish before asking for confirmation. • Plant death messages explain the cause, how to avoid it, your remaining seeds, and whether the run can continue. • Once you master the best tilling or watering charge level, its tutorial stops repeating for the rest of that run. Starting pickups and interface improvements • Clear the starting grass piles to find fertilizer, a shovel, and a watering can. Contents are shuffled each run, with one of each essential tool guaranteed. • The welcome letter includes a grass pile illustration, and the courtyard has additional flower decorations. • The interface shows your current mode and seed count. Retrying after a loss keeps your selected mode. Continuing an older save? Older saves keep the Classic Hardcore rules. To try Steady Growth, choose it when starting a new game.
