Ver.2.1.0 Open Beta Update — New Spell Upgrades and Reworked Shields
2026-08-22Hello, everyone! I'm Onidora from StudioActOne. Thank you as always for playing Code Reactors. The Ver.2.1.0 open beta is now live. This update adds new Spell Upgrades and reworks how Shields function, along with adjustments to enemy placement, enemy behavior, and in-game displays. Update Details New Spell Upgrades: "Echo" and "Foresight" Two new Spell Upgrades have been added: "Echo" and "Foresight." A Spell with "Echo" fires one additional time when used. A Spell with "Foresight" creates a Parry window and grants invincibility when used. It opens up a new option: deflecting enemy attacks while you keep attacking. Shield Changes The cap on Shields gained from Spells and Relics has been removed.

In exchange, reloading your Deck now clears all Shields you're holding. You can stack Shields freely within a single reload cycle, which makes the timing of your Reload more important than ever. Alongside this, the Shield amounts granted by some Spells have been adjusted. Enemy Defeat Counter Added The exploration HUD now displays the number of enemies you've defeated in the current run. You can check your total at any point during exploration. Enemy Placement Adjustments Enemy placement across every area has been reviewed. In particular, for the Limit Break effect that makes strong enemies appear, they now spawn in locations that suit their nature — ground-based or airborne — so that strong enemies no longer cluster too heavily in specific spots. Enemy Behavior Adjustments For some strong enemies, we've adjusted how they approach you on first encounter and how long they wait before starting an attack. This reduces situations where an enemy suddenly attacks from off-screen or chains into consecutive attacks before you've even noticed it. Thank you for taking part in the open beta. Please share bug reports and feedback in the #open-beta channel on our fan Discord server! We'll continue making adjustments as we work toward the official release. Thank you for your continued support of Code Reactors!
