Patch Notes — Launch Fix

2026-07-28

We've fixed a bug that prevented some players from launching Morbid Catastrophe at all, showing an error like: "Missing game executable — D:\\Steam\\steamapps\\common\\Morbid Catastrophe\\Morbid_Catastrophe.exe" What happened: A packaging error on our end caused the last build upload to ship an incomplete/incorrect file structure, leaving the game executable out of reach for Steam. What we fixed: Re-uploaded a corrected build with the executable properly placed at the install root. If you're still affected: • Right-click Morbid Catastrophe in your Steam Library → Properties → Installed Files → Verify integrity of game files. • If that doesn't resolve it, uninstall and reinstall the game. • Still stuck? I'm mixed on this one. It has a cool idea in the card system. I thought it was interestin' up till the first enemy encounter. Didn't know how to go about gettin' rid of that vessel. Very weird, short and enjoyable retro-styled indie-horror game. The enemy is dumb and gets stuck in the couch, but I enjoyed it. Quite original.

This is a great creepy little puzzle/horror game with some interesting mechanics, switching between two different styles of play in an interesting way. It is very short but pretty effective at what it's doing. My only complaint about the game would be that the central creature attacks while very scary, didn't effectively communicate how you were supposed to avoid it.
