This is a work in progress. It is a absolutely a work worth checking out, but bear in mind this is.....nowhere near done. In short, it hits that N64 itch I didn't realize I had. Its not a system I particularly pine for, but this has all the good stuff. Colorful and wacky designs, unhinged story that is probably a lot darker than you would thing from said wacky designs. Its fun and interesting. 6/10 in its current...

On early access, the game has promise. I did the "intro" part currently. N64 zelda-like with quirks of its own. Tho someone on reviews compared combat to DMC which is sliiiightly a stretch. Combat is nice tho, way more air-time than zelda games for example.

Out of a lifetime's worth of playing games, both indie and otherwise, Carter's Quest is one of the few that resonates with me on basically every level. It can be a little janky and unpolished, sometimes, but its flaws are so easy to overlook; CQ knows exactly what it wants to be, and it does it with every ounce of style and sincerity that you could ask for. There aren't a lot of indie games even attempting something...

tl;dr - this game is super dope. it's worth 6 bucks, it's worth 10 bucks, frankly it's probably worth more from a bird's eye view, you'd think it's like a zelda game, and it's sorta like that in that you explore dungeons and get items, but the actual combat is more similar to a character action game like DMC. you can really tell there's a passion for the character action genre there, and it's worn on the games...
