I give this game a thumbs up simply because it does what it sets out to do. It’s a rogue-like game. It accomplished it’s mission. Game plays very intuitive. If you have played games like Neoverse or Slay the Spire you're good to go. Anathema takes a bit to understand but you get used to it fairly quick. Enemy design is pretty cool and the effects are well made. Build variety comes as you level up/unlock certain EXP Stages. The game is solid, especially coming out of Slay the Spire as my intro to the genre. It feels good to play, there is a lot of variety in the different elements. I picked up the water deck and the game suddenly felt a lot more strategic, compared to the constant gas of the fire element.
