I don't have much of a connection to the original game. I watched an LP of it and liked it. It was a quirky and surreal metroidvania. The short version is that it is a solid sequel that has a lot of the charm of the original. The long version is that hard core fans of the original will probably be discontent with it and it is expensive for such a short game.

I went into this game blindly without knowing it was a sequel to another game and I have to say; I am glad that I did. The cast is lovely, the visuals are charming, the music is nice, and the gameplay is alright. I'll probably be getting the original once it goes on sale and I suggest that if you're interested in this game and the first one, go for it!

An NES game made in the modern era.
It's experimental and weird, but also simple and short. It acts as if the last 35 years of video games didn't happen.
There's little localization here, just translation. It's in English, but the characters are speaking a different cultural language.
