Update v0.2.7: Tons of New Stages & VFX + Major Timeline Improvements
2026-09-27Thank you for using VRM Dance Dream MV! With ver0.2.7, I’ve added many new stages, skies, and VFX, along with major improvements to timeline editing, lighting, and camera work to make MV creation smoother and more flexible. ■ Tons of New Stages, Skies and VFX I’ve added a large collection of new content that makes it easy to change the look and atmosphere of your MVs. • Stage - Floor: 38 • Stage - Sky: 6 • Effects - Particle: 12 Object VFX and 24 Space VFX You can use them simply by dragging and dropping the buttons onto the timeline. For Space VFX, you can now hover over a button to see a live preview of the effect in motion. The buttons also display their names, making it easier to find the effect you want. ■ Stage Light Settings Now Change Automatically to Match the Stage
Read the full notes
When you select a stage, the Stage Light settings now automatically change to match that stage. The Stage Light colors also change automatically when the stage changes on the timeline. ※ If a Stage Light clip is placed in that section, the settings from the Stage Light clip take priority. ■ Lower Exposure While Keeping Avatars and Effects Bright I’ve improved how scenes look when lowering the exposure. You can now darken the surrounding venue while keeping avatars, penlights, stage lights, and VFX bright. This makes it much easier to create concert-style scenes where the venue is dark while the performers and stage effects remain clearly visible. ■ Ambient Light Added I’ve added Ambient Light to Advanced Settings. You can adjust the brightness and color of the light illuminating the overall environment and save up to 8 presets. I’ve also added an Ambient Light row to the timeline, allowing you to switch Ambient Light settings section by section. This makes it possible to change the atmosphere of the same stage from scene to scene. ■ Major Timeline Editing Improvements I’ve significantly expanded the basic timeline editing controls to make MV editing faster and more intuitive. • Undo / Redo — Ctrl+Z / Ctrl+Y (Mac: Cmd+Z / Cmd+Y) • Copy / Cut / Paste — Ctrl+C / Ctrl+X / Ctrl+V (Mac: Cmd+C / Cmd+X / Cmd+V) • Paste at original time — Ctrl+Shift+V (Mac: Cmd+Shift+V) • Box selection across multiple rows • Move or paste motion and expression clips to another avatar's row • Hold Ctrl (Mac: Cmd) while dragging to duplicate clips • Snap controls — Turn snapping on/off and select 1 beat, 1/2 beat, or 1/4 beat. Clips can also snap to clip edges and the playhead. • A semi-transparent preview shows where clips will land when dragging them to another row. Moving, duplicating, and adjusting the timing of clips is now much faster and easier. ■ More Natural Camera Work I’ve reduced the small camera shakes that could occur with Preset Camera shots. Instead of constantly following every small movement of the avatar, the camera now follows only when the avatar makes a larger movement. This makes it easier to create steadier, more natural-looking camera work during dance performances. ■ New Skirt Features (Beta) I’ve added two new Beta features for models with skirts. Skirt Physics (Beta) This feature adds cloth physics to make skirts move more naturally and can be turned ON/OFF for each model. • Gravity adjustment • Damping adjustment • Optional stronger collision around the hips Skirt Physics is OFF by default. Skirt interior shading (Beta) You can now enable an effect that darkens the inside of the skirt for each model. ※ These are Beta features, so results may vary depending on the shape and setup of the model. ■ Other Improvements and Fixes • You can now press a Particle button outside a Particle section on the timeline to temporarily preview how it looks. This is only a preview and is not saved to the project. • Fixed an issue where the Enter key could sometimes fail to play or stop playback. • Fixed a slight offset in the return position after stopping playback. • Timeline editing buttons are now displayed as icons. Hover over them to see descriptions and keyboard shortcuts. This update is not only about adding more content. I’ve also made many improvements with the goal of making the entire MV creation workflow more comfortable and efficient. I hope you enjoy creating MVs with the new stages, VFX, lighting options, and timeline editing features! I’ll continue improving VRM Dance Dream MV to make MV creation more fun and expressive. Your reviews and feedback mean a lot to me and really help support development!
