Major update 0.20

2019-11-09

This major update adds a new zone and another boss, as well as many improvements to the game. Unfortunately, with this I'm putting LEVEL UP! on hiatus until spring 2020 (at the earliest). The game barely sold at all, so I'm going to focus my efforts on other projects, namely Arcane Worlds and Pick Your Poison. Change log: • Added second zone (levels 6-10). • Added second boss fight. • Added scrolling parallax backgrounds. • Added pistol dual wield skill. • Added laser scope upgrade. • You can now punch with an empty hand. • Recolored everything to use a common palette. • Bosses are now in separate levels. • Improved game over screen. • Redesigned level up screen. • Fixed wheeled enemies dropping down to their death. • Various engine upgrades, the game requires Windows Vista or newer now. • Switched to SoLoud audio engine. • New music and sound effects.

I stumbled onto this game, and I thought that I might give it a try. Apparently, I have to agree with Mattchu, it REALLY needs a lot of improvements, like a pause screen, make a strict limit of lives you can carry (as I have collected so many I saw half a heart! xD), music sometimes change its volume, needs more options on the main menu, and a whole lot more bits and pieces to find that needs fixing if you guys or I...

I really wish that I could recommend this game. It has a few very well done elements (voxel-based mining, explosion sound effects and animations) however, there is not enough content to justify a ten dollar purchase at this time. When steam has such a vast array of polished indie games for a similar price, it is difficult to see myself choosing this over a different game. If this was only a dollar, I could perhaps...
