Ooga Booga Battle Ver. 1.0.2 Released!
2025-02-01Good evening battlers! Wanted to strike while the iron is hot and make a few more changes before I begin work on the game's first BIG update. As always, thanks to everyone who has been playing, making content and leaving feedback! I have a solid, actionable plan as to what I want to add to the game's first major update, but please continue to leave feedback in the forums between now and then! Many of these changes have been spurred on by players like you! ...Huh? You wanna know what the first big update is gonna be like? Well hang on a moment, at least let me get through the patch notes... Jeez... MOTHMAN BUFFED! • Mothman's Attack interval has been increased to .5 seconds instead of .75 seconds.

I think I may have went a teeeeny tiiiny bit overboard with Mothman nerfs in 1.0. Especially with the enemy spawn changes that 1.0.1 brought to the table, mothman was really suffering. Because of this, I have decided to bump his attack interval up some. He doesn't fire quite as fast as he did in the demo, but he is able to pack a punch while still having to be careful as to not become overwhelmed with enemies! I can't wait to see what strategies you folks come up with in the coming days to get crazy high scores! OTHER CHANGES AND BUG FIXES • Altered the hitboxes for enemies, bosses and player cryptids to be smaller, as to be more forgiving. • Added a single second period in which the a boss's hitbox is disabled, to prevent unfair damage from an unlucky boss spawn. • Fixed and issue where the main menu music would not play when exiting back to the menu during gameplay. • Fixed an issue where the player could still level up stats while the game was paused in the training phase. • Fixed an issue where the stat lever meters were interactable with the mouse during the raising phase. • Fixed an issue where the player could feed the baby while the game was paused. • Fixed an issue where the scoreboard would fail to load upon the end of the battle phase under certain conditions. And that's it! Didn't expect this update to be bigger than 1.0.1, but here we are! Thanks again to everyone who helped point out many of these issues. As for the future? As stated, I've begun work on adding a completely new system that will add some much needed complexity and variety to the same-ol' runs. I'm not entirely sure how long this will end up taking, But I'll be sure to provide updates as I begin to add these new features! And... Since you've asked so nicely... let me share a little snippet of what I'm working on. It'll take a while, but I'm incredibly excited to see what comes of it. ...After all, you know what they say: In for a penny, In for a pound! 'Till next time, Keep on battling!
