Steamalot is a medieval steampunk tactical card game. As a player you build a deck of characters, skills, and equipment. During a game players play characters onto a battlefield. Then those characters maneuver around the field in turn based combat.

Update: Card Leveling Fix

2015-12-17

A new update is rolling out today12/16/2015. This is fixing the card leveling bug where by cards could be randomly lost through repeated leveling at the same time while switching between the card selection pop-up menu repeatedly. We also came across an AI edge case that wasn't breaking, but annoying, and fixed that. Everyone at Risen Phoenix hopes you continue to enjoy Steamalot. This update will also be added to our iOS update queue. When that goes live it will be lined up with the Steam version and cross-platform PvP will be available again. ~Cheers!

I think I've played enough to give my opinion on this game. I like it. I don't want to stop playing, I got that "just one more turn!" bug. Quick note before I go further, this is a PC port of a phone game, so if you are biased against phone games you might want to keep that in mind. However, I think there's a free version out there you could try to see if you like the gameplay. And if you want to complain about...

This game looked stupid. And then the first video - BARF! super cheesy. But a reference to Card Hunter (dig it) caught my eye, so against my better judgement I gave the game a proper look. The game "sounded" solid, and the second video seemed to like it, so I honestly don't know why, but i bought it. I'm shocked. Halfway thru the campaign and my impression is that It's good. It doesn't appear to have the same depth...

I was surprised there weren't more reviews for Steamalot so I decided to write this in support of this small game. This game is quite fun despite being a phone port. Gameplay is simple square grid turn based strategy, which can be difficult at times though never overwhelmingly so.
