Newer MacOS Compatibility + Spanish Language Update

Greetings, fellow humans. Everything is fine and you have nothing to be afraid of. Today I'm pleased to announce that The Whisperer in Darkness has been updated for compatibility with new versions of Mac OS. Additionally, you can now play it in Spanish! This update will likely make Whisperer incompatible with older versions of Mac OS and Windows. If you need to play Whisperer on an older system, you can download the legacy version like so: 1. In your Steam library, right-click The Whisperer in Darkness and select "Properties". 2. Click on the "Betas" tab. 3. Click "None", and change it to "legacy". The legacy version is only available in English.

A more or less accurate retelling of the Lovecraft short story, let down by some ASCII style gameplay that really adds NOTHING to the narrative (if anything it drains tension from game that a straight up narrative approach might have maintained), and some kinda iffy artwork (yeah, yeah, it's totally subjective; I get that...) So, it's not perfect, but it'll only take ~half an hour of your time, and the original...

I read this Lovecraft story yesterday (one of the creepiest and most unsettling stories I've read) and then learnt that someone had adapted it to a videogame. This is a very good effort - it is quite faithful to the narrative while at the same time not reusing the exact same text. The artwork is also commendable, and the game as a whole respects the whole "fear of the unknown" thing like the novella does.
