Top notch platformer with slight metroidvania elements. Loads of secrets to discover, devious levels, fun bosses. Excellent visuals and even better music. Also, hilarious.

It's not bad, but it's a bit of a pain to find the hidden treasures throughout previous levels, especially with the map fully revealed. Fake walls are my least favorite way to hide secrets and this game is rife with them.

Important: on more recent systems, the game may suffer from severe lag. At least on desktop, I solved the issue by locating the file "usagi.exe" in the game directory and running it as administrator. If you were around freeware gaming and the nascent indie scene in the early 2000s, you may at least have heard of Return of Egypt, often known as "Moses Kicks Egyptian Ass". Short and fun Metroidvania-like game. I like the animations and art style of this one. Not really a true Metroidvania. It's a collection of separate levels with a Metroidvania dungeon layout with a skill upgrade in each level. Lots of secrets and collectibles to get so replaying levels is mandatory to get everything. The way the skills you acquire and the layout of the levels work is you should play each level once...
